Left side slide-in menu causing serious problems with left side scrollbar

As a left-handed person I have the scrollbar in my Firefox browser on the left of the window frame. Because of this I find it almost impossible to navigate this site because the Gnome slide-in menu keeps appearing every time I try to access the scroll bar. This menu sits there covering the content. This almost makes the site unusable.

Can this be addressed in some way. Can a left-side scrollbar automatically switch the menu to the right side? can the slide-in feature be disabled with a button or keyboard shortcut used to gain access?
