Boards section: opening issues in new tab doesn't work anymore

Unfortunately I can't share any screenshots, but hopefully describing the issue is enough. When you go to Issue boards and you try to open an issue in new tab by cmd/ctrl clicking it isn't working. The UI forces you to open the issue in quick view(on the side) and then you can click on the link icon. I do love this quick view functionality, it is very useful, but I don't see a reason to break the basic functionality of the browser.

UX story

As a user I should always be able to use cmd/ctrl click on links to open a link in a new tab.

Reproducer

Go to issue boards > See issue list > cmd/ctrl click on an issue link > issue does not open in new tab. Expected behaviour: open issue in new tab.
