In the VSC “Web IDE”, expose filesystem object rename via the context menu, rather than solely via keyboard shortcut.

Currently, the ¹ Web IDE's context menu exposes solely an (initially disabled) "Paste" option via the context menu:

However, it permits rename via F2:

This unfairly disadvantages touch-screen users, and is unintuitive.
