It is not possible to create an task list without a caption

Summary

In GitLab, it is not possible to create an task list without a caption. This limitation is particularly problematic when attempting to generate a table matrix containing task checkboxes.

Steps to reproduce

1. Open an issue or comment in GitLab.

2. Attempt to create an task list without a caption using Markdown

   - [ ] 

3. Observe that GitLab does not render the task list properly:

• [ ]

The task list is not rendered

What is the expected correct behavior?

The list should be rendered like this
