As part of exploring empty states for homepages, @jmiocene came up with some great concepts for using the homepage to help onboard new users, and for advertising new features to existing users:

New user - uses free version of GitLab with no trial or invitation	New user - invited to a group	Existing user - feature promotions

Though the personal productivity team isn't focusing on onboarding immediately, we'll use this issue to explore these concepts further, and to continue discussions with the Growth team on this topic.
