Zoekt multi match sometimes returns no results

Steps to reproduce

Best I can tell, the steps when this happened were:

1. perform a search using the command palette (global search)
2. change to gitlab-org/gitlab project
3. select the code tab
4. no results returned
5. run the search more times and eventually results come back

Note: these steps do not always reproduce the behavior

What is the current bug behavior?

results should be displayed if they exist every time

What is the expected correct behavior?

sometimes no results were displayed
