Draft: FY26Q2 KR Clean up links from docs to handbook
Problem to solve
Survey comments show that some docs site visitors are overwhelmed with links. For example, a docs site survey vebatim says "Just way too much text with so many links, that it makes it very hard to figure out what to do." One of the many things we link to is the handbook.
In addition, the handbook is not localized, so a user who is reading the docs in their native language, if it's other than English, will be sent to a site that's in English. This is not an ideal user experience.
Note on KRs
Company wide OKRs have been replaced by strategy and planning documents and operational dashboards. KRs can still be used as a means to drive alignment and organization for the work we do, with PLT (@ampesta) agreement. For more information, see David’s memo.
Goal
The goal is to remove handbook links that aren't critical. While a link might be somewhat useful, if it's not critical to the user's understanding, we should remove. Users can Google the information they need, and the majority of content on the web is found through search.
We will not update docs in the /development directory.
