GitLab for Slack does not post notification when editing page with git

We have GitLab self-managed running 17.8. We previously had the GitLab Slack notification app working; however, this appears to be deprecated.

Therefore we installed the new Gitlab for Slack app and attempted to similarly configure it.

When you create / update a wiki page from within GitLab the notification works; however, if you clone the repo and make changes and push them then a notification is not received.

At our organization, no one uses the UI, as it does not handle merge conflicts, so we all use git -- we are developers after all.
