Docs feedback: Removal of Interactive Web Terminals

Problem to solve

I recently tried to configure interactive web terminals to improve troubleshooting for CI jobs. However, the configuration was not straightforward and due to some misleading information in the documentation it cost me and a GitLab support engineer a lot of time. We have now got it working and the idea was to add some of our new findings to the GitLab documentation.

The problem now is that the documentation on this that was present in GitLab 17.6 has been removed in GitLab 17.7.

Further details

The relevant MR is gitlab-docs!5220 (merged), which links to !173507 (merged) and it mentions that the deprecation is discussed in https://gitlab.com/gitlab-org/gitlab/-/issues/444551, which results in a 404 for me.

I have checked the deprecations at https://docs.gitlab.com/ee/update/deprecations.html and also the documentation at 17.6 or less has no deprecation note or anything.

Proposal

Could this perhaps be clarified for me? or if a mistake has been made, could it be reversed? Why is the feature deprecated and removed ?
