Geo: Test new container registry metadata database with Geo

Problem to solve

We have a new container registry metadata database. We want to make this available to Geo self-managed customers. Before we do so we want test that Geo replication functions as expected. This will ensure customers using the new container registry metadata database is protected against data loss in the event of a failover.

Proposal

Test the following scenarios:

• New installations setup with the new container registry metadata database. Ensure replication, verification and failover of work as expected.
• Existing installations using the old container registry after each container registry has been migrated to the new container registry independently. Migration documentation can be found for charts and omnibus. Ensure replication, verification and failover work as expected.

Findings should be feed into the documentation issue for deviations and exceptions to highlight.
