Default auto close issues at the group level setting

At the project level we have a setting we can change

Settings -> Repository -> Branch defaults -> Auto-close referenced issues on default branch

This controls whether an issue will be closed automatically when a merge request that used the issue closing pattern in the description or commit message. Now, we are adding group level issues/work_items and we don't have this setting at the group level. Should we add this setting to groups so users can opt-out of this behavior?
