Proposal

This is specific to the GitLab secrets manager (under development).

This feature enables the admins to restore a secret which was either:

• accidentally edited
• deleted
• revoked

The restoration must happen within a specific pre-defined timeframe (TBD), otherwise, the "last known information" will be permanently removed. In any case, the audit logs will persist to show who performed the modifying/removing action. This is consistent with industry/competitive secrets managers:

• AWS Secrets Manager
• Azure Key Vault
