Release Post: GitLab Duo Chat now generally available
Release notes
With 16.11, GitLab Duo Chat becomes generally available. As part of this update, we are also making the following of its capabilities generally available:
- Code explanation helps users understand unfamiliar code
- Code refactoring enables developers to simplify and improve existing code
- Test generation automates repetitive tasks and helps teams catch bugs sooner
Users can access Chat in the GitLab UI, in the Web IDE, or in VS Code. Chat is also available JetBrains IDEs (in Beta).
The Chat capabilities released into general availability will become part of the GitLab Duo Pro and GitLab Duo Enterprise add-ons later this year. Chat is currently available for free for all Ultimate and Premium customers.
