Retrying a manual job: Variables key has already been taken

I have a manual job that uses a specific variable called "VARIABLE" and clicking "Run job" but the job itself failed due to the value of the variable. I was going to retry the job and replace the variable with a different value but when I make that attempt, "Variables key has already been taken" shows up in the top left corner.

This is low hanging fruit since we can just start a new job, just thought I would report it.
