Improve clarity of starting a trial for those directed to trial
Problem
Some customers are 'concerned' , 'worried' , 'hesitant' about starting a trial. This especially holds true when we direct those who say they are signing up for GitLab for company use and creating a project to trial by default.
User flow
During Free Registration, when someone lands on Step 4 /welcome and select My company or team
and Create a new project
They are directed to start a trial (instead of free) by default. They are then sent to /company where they must enter in company details to proceed
We believe customers on this step are concerned, worried, hesitant about starting a trial.
Solution
For those directed to trial, we can do a better job in reassuring and demonstrating the value.
Ideas
- Re-assure them as to why the Ultimate trial is valuable
- Re-assure them that there is no charge for the trial
- no credit card required for signup
- after the 30 day period and they get the free account after 30 days
