Changelog API - specify branch in parameter

When trying to generate changelog on the fly using the changelog API for a release I discovered that there is no way to specify a branch when using the GET command.

However using the post command I can but it doesn't suit my need since i don't want to generate a new commit.

Having a branch parameter would fix the issue
