Webhook Events for Linked Work Items

Summary

In &10150, we're adding webhook events for work items. In this issue, we will create webhook events for linked work items. This should extend across work item types to any WIT which has this widget available.

By leveraging webhooks across Plan features, we can provide real-time updates, improve cross-functional collaboration, and enhance overall project tracking and efficiency. This aligns well with the Agile and SAFe principles of fast feedback loops, adaptability, and continuous improvement.

Use Cases

  1. Dependency Management: Webhooks can alert team members when a blocking issue is resolved, indicating that work on the dependent tasks can commence. This helps in efficient workflow management.
  2. Cross-Reference Updates: When a linked work item is updated, a webhook can automatically inform stakeholders of the other linked items. This ensures that all relevant parties are kept in the loop regarding changes or updates.
  3. Resource Allocation: If a critical work item is blocked, webhooks can trigger alerts or workflows in resource management tools to reallocate resources to more immediate tasks.
