The `/clear` Duo Chat command doesn't clear the conversation

Summary

In the Duo Chat UI panel Duo responds to the /clear command with a response like Clearing previous conversation history. Let's start fresh!, but it doesn't actually clear the panel.

Environment: GDK (self-managed)
GitLab version: GitLab Enterprise Edition 16.8.0-pre 213aa680.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Open the Duo Chat UI panel via the Help menu.
  2. Enter something to start a conversation (e.g., help)
  3. Enter /clear

What is the current bug behavior?

Duo says it's clearing the previous conversation history, but it's still present.

What is the expected correct behavior?

The history is cleared, like it is when you use the /clean command.
