Windows Runner support policy docs needs clarification
Problematic page: https://docs.gitlab.com/runner/install/support-policy.html#windows-version-support
- This page doesn't mention Windows Server 2022 at all, even though GitLab does support it for 1.5 years already.
- According to Microsoft page, today is "Mainstream End Date" for Windows Server 2019. Does it mean that in the very nearest future GitLab will drop its support, even though Windows Server 2019 is going to get security updates until 2029?
I am not actually sure what will change on Microsoft side after today. According to Microsoft Fixed Lifecycle Policy, I'd say that nothing changes. Windows Server 2019 will stop to receive non-security updates. But did it actually receive any of those last years? Additional point here: just open your-favorite-web-search and try to find any notable news about Windows Server 2019 in context of Jan 9, 2024. There is void. Because nothing happened. This date has absolutely zero meaning in the life of Windows Server 2019. And I believe it is absolutely random and unjustified to end drop Windows Server 2019 support in GitLab on this date.
One more thought: while Microsoft uses "Mainstream End Date" term, the page in question uses "EOL (End-Of-Life)". I believe this is misleading because generally "EOL" means "end of any support".
