Jira Toolchain - Cannot add existing GitLab repos to Jira project

I have 2 existing Gitlab Repos. I created a new Jira project and on the Toolchain I used the option to 'Add repositories'. I picked the workspace and then picked the repos from the 2 dropdowns. Then I click 'Add Repository'

The program shows a spinner for about a minute and then the spinner disappears.

FYI, I can create a new Repo in GitLab but I cannot attach an existing repo
