Product Analytics: line charts group by

Problem

As a product manager at GitLab, I want to chart the users who take any of a group of actions, so that I can visualize the trend of active users over time.

You can see this in the product analytics dashboard today. We want to count users who view a default OR a custom dashboard as a dashboard view but the events are different so we do not have a good signal about the total of unique users doing either of those.

Proposal

Give users an option to group by a value instead of graphing multiple lines.

The work around to this is send multiple events for each action which is not ideal.
