GitLab EE docker image based on CentOS/RHEL

Description

We are evaluating GitLab EE to use as CI/CD solution in our RedHat OpenShift clusters. The current docker images available on DockerHub (https://hub.docker.com/r/gitlab/gitlab-ee) are Ubuntu based. From a security / compliancy perspective, we prefer to have CentOS/RHEL based images.

Current installation procedure for CentOS7/RHEL on normal host systems, has dependencies towards systemctl, which in turn does not work on CentOS/RHEL docker base-images due to links to DBUS.

Proposal

Provide CentOS/RHEL based docker images with official GitLab support for GitLab CE/EE.
