Service Desk can customize Headers and Footers
Problem to solve
Service Desk is an official communication channel of the organization. It should look official, with the relevant company header and footer information included.
Currently, GitLab only allows administrators to set the header and footer at the GitLab instance level. This creates a couple of issues:
- GitLab.com users cannot set any header or footer for their group.
- If you have multiple service desks, you cannot tailor the messaging according to the service desk context
Proposal
new_note.md
can actually serve this purpose. We will update the documentation to:
- clue people to use templates in this way
- point to using the Web IDE or Single File Edit as an efficient WYSIWYG editor for email templates: real-time rendering preview, no need to send test emails
