GitLab Command Palette

Release notes

Command palettes are an important part of navigation for super users. In 16.2, we've kicked off the GitLab Command palette that introduces four new ways to navigate locally and also closes a 6-year old issue.

  • > - Use to create a new object or to find a menu item.
  • @ - Search for user.
  • : - Search for project.
  • / - Search for project files in the default repository branch.

You can still also jump between projects and groups as well as find navigation items.

Problem to solve

It's difficult to navigate via keyboard and use the search combined with the context switcher.
