Advanced Search - Global code search stopped working

Summary

After upgrading our self hosted instance to GitLab 16.0.1 EE (bug may have been introduced in 16.0 and not noticed until now) the search no longer searches code even though Advanced Search is enabled.

Steps to reproduce

Search a project for a term found in the code and notice that code results are returned.

Clear the filters and notice that no code results are returned.

What is the current bug behavior?

No code results are returned.

What is the expected correct behavior?

Results from code are returned as they were with 15.x
