Service Desk: Clarify usage of `Email Display Name`
Context
Improve docs and config UI for https://docs.gitlab.com/ee/user/project/service_desk.html#change-the-support-bots-display-name
Docs: "Emails sent from Service Desk have this name in the
From
header"
Config UI: "Name to be used as the sender for emails from Service Desk"
Currently, this suggest all emails sent by Service Desk will use the custom display name.
In reality, only Thank You
and Custom Email Verification
emails will use this display name. New Note
emails will use the display name of the GitLab user who made the comment.
We should make it clearer what this config item actually does.
Docs proposal
Before:
Change the Support Bot’s display name
You can change the display name of the Support Bot user. Emails sent from Service Desk have this name in theFrom
header. The default display name isGitLab Support Bot

After:
Change the automatic email display name
You can change the display name of automatic emails sent by the Service Desk. Thank you emails and custom email verification emails sent from Service Desk have this name in the
From
header. The default display name isGitLab Support Bot
.
