VLC Media Player: Problem with file conversions

When doing any conversion of a single file VLC always ask if you want to overwrite a file even if the file extension is different. VLC should probably check and see if the extension is the same before asking. It apparently checks when multiple files are converted and doesn't ask the question.

The latest version of VLC has a bug. I was converting multiple mp4s to mp3s. VLC does the conversion and writes the files to disk. Then asks if you want to overwrite the file for each file it even though it has already written it to disk. When VLC finishes asking about each file it starts over and asks if you want to overwrite each file again in a continuous loop. How you answer the question has no affect. The questions come up in a pop up box so fast, you cannot exit the program short of cancelling it from Task Manager.
