Tooltip persists when opening modal on mobile

There is an issue where the tooltip for the modal button persists on mobile after tapping the button. Along with this, although that it appears the search field is now in focus, the keyboard doesn't get triggered and appear as expected. Mentioned in this comment

when opening the modal on mobile, the tooltip stays in place and it doesn't trigger the keyboard to open even though it appears the field is in focus (see image below).
