Problem to solve

!113171 (comment 1316451298) There are too many things happening in the environments dropdown menu in the Add variable modal which is in return impacting the loading time of the environment list and overall experience of searching an env. Reconsider if wildcard creation should be a part of the dropdown itself or should be placed somewhere outside.

This method of creating wildcard environments is resulting in additional problems such as #322731 (closed).

Intended users

User experience goal

Users should not be presented with a confusing workflow while they try to create a wildcard environment.

Proposal

Place the option to create a wildcard environment outside the dropdown.
