Unable to register user with an email that has previously been used.
Everyone can contribute. Help move this issue forward while earning points, leveling up and collecting rewards.
It would seem that for some reason when a user has registered, gitlab doesn't seem to purge (?) old emails from deleted users.
Registration proceeds fine but when logging in first time for newly created user, and error message is displayed saying something to the effect that the mail is already being used.
All of this came about because a registered user was approved but did not confirm their email within a reasonable time and the user had "expired"
As admin user, I reset password but then the user got "too many redirects" type errors when attempting to login. After that I deleted the users and had them reregister... same result.
I disabled sign_in email confirmation feature and then reregistered again with a dummy email address and user was able to login.
