Project level clusters > Knative offering
In our weekly System meeting we briefly discussed whether our project level knative offering is worth the effort.
Some concerns mentioned:
- Flexibility: Does it provide flexibility that users require? Is it a good pattern?
- The "many to many" relationship may be more accurate/used.
On the flip side, users may be utilizing project clusters for security reasons.
In a survey we did six months ago, we asked which integration level users were using. Of the 11 responses, 63.64% were using project level clusters. When we asked what their considerations were for choosing that level, a couple said that it was the only choice at the time and they haven't had a need to switch or werent aware of other options. Over the past six months since the survey took place we've likely seen an increase in group level clusters.
One way to determine whether this functionality is useful to users is to look at our data. How many group level clusters have been created over time and compare with project level. Further, are we able to see which of those clusters have installed Knative?
