Adaptive theme, synchronised with the OS
Release notes
Working with Gitlab at the day and in the evening may require different theme to be user-friendly. Unfortunately, switching theme manually two or more times a day is cumbersome too... That's where adaptive theme, synchronised with the OS, can help you!
Problem to solve
Ability to automatically switch theme when OS switches its mode between light and dark. If such auto-toggle is enabled (or if user switches mode manually), Gitlab's theme could change automatically too. GitHub has it:
Proposal
It should be possible to choose "Sync with system in the "Color theme" preferences. Maybe ability to select one theme for light mode and another one for dark mode?
That's how GitHub handles it:
Intended users
All types of users.
Feature Usage Metrics
Selecting particular setting in the preferences. It should be possible to determine how many users have it enabled.
