Please Support OCI Artifact Distribution Specification (OADS) for Devcontainers (like used in VSCode)

TL;DR

Please support OCI Artifact Distribution Specification (OADS) as seen in Open Development Container Specification (ODCS).

This would allow to host development container features on Gitlab.

Details

Microsoft folks made the VSCode's Remote Development Containers into an Open Development Container Specification (ODCS).

In order to be able to host your own features (which are little scripts which can provision dev-tools inside the development container they require the package registry supports the OCI Artifact Distribution Specification.

Since we do our company stuff on Gitlab and I'm also not a fan Github getting too much control it would be nyce Gitlab provides similar support.

This is also related to Gitlab EPIC 7056 Unified Artifact Registry
