VLC doesn't follow linked directories

The VLC app on AppleTV doesn't follow soft linked directories. When clicked, it just keeps trying to connect. Maybe, this is a Samba issue, maybe a missing "/" at the end of the directory listing program. For people having multi-disk computers and no hardware RAID cards, this is a problem.
