Goal

Define a user journey illustrating workspace - membership and inheritance

Persona 1:

    • I am overseeing multiple projects

Persona 2:

Existing Story:

  • Sasha joined the team last month
  • Sasha realizes a library they need to use is in another project
  • Sasha goes to projects to look for it
  • Sasha sees 100+ projects
  • Sasha checks personal projects and sees none
  • Sasha is not sure of the name so they sort by name and click through a few pages until they find the right project
  • Sasha opens the project and tries to start doing some work, but realizes they don't have the right permissions
  • Sasha asks Delaney for assistance
  • Delaney knows the team structure and asks Sasha if they are a member of Sharedgroup 3
  • Sasha navigates to groups, again sees a lot of groups they don't recognize and finds Sharedgroup 3
  • Sasha sees they are a member and tells Delaney who is confused and decides to investigate
  • Delaney goes to the project and looks to see if Sasha is a member
  • Delaney expects to see ~15 members but sees 300 members
  • Delaney filters by direct and sees 0 members
  • Delaney clears the filter searches by Sasha's username and finds no result
  • Delaney navigates Sharedgroup 3
  • Delaney navigates to the member's page
  • Delaney sees Sasha is an inherited member and is confused why they don't have access
  • Delaney reads the documentation and realizes direct members get shared but inherited do not
  • Delaney adds Sasha as a direct member to Sharedgroup 3

  • Sasha checks "All groups I have access to" and searches until they find Sharedgroup 3
  • Sasha sees they are not a member and tells Delaney I have access to it, but I am not a member
  • Delaney has an idea of what the problem might be and continues to investigate
  • Delaney goes to the project and looks to see if Sasha is a member
  • Delaney sees 15 members and confirms Sasha is not one
  • Delaney navigates Sharedgroup 3
  • Delaney navigates to the member's page
  • Delaney confirms Sasha is not a member and sees that they only have access
  • Delaney adds Sasha as a direct member to Sharedgroup 3
