Navigation Accessibility Review

Problem

As we are building out the super sidebar and it needs to be looked at from an accessibility point of view.

Proposal for Audit

Audit the designs as well as the created code for the implementation of the Super Sidebar.

Structure

Order of elements and semantic HTML markup (landmarks, roles, states). Markup relatively consistent with current order of items (Skip to content, logo/home, etc.)

Relevant WCAG Guidelines: 2.4 Navigable and 3.2 Predictable

Visibility

Availability of sidebar on page rendering. This might be less around compliance with WCAG criteria and more around performance and usability testing to minimise impact/distraction. Also interactions between different themes/modes for color palettes etc. to ensure sufficient contrast.
