Mermaid Plugin for IntelliJ - No way to zoom in or out

I am using IntelliJ 2022 with Mermaids plug in to add various diagrams to my markup documents. When I open my project README.md file in IntelliJ, I have no way to zoom in or out to fit the diagram into the view. This is an issue as if I wanted to show these diagrams, it is difficult to follow up as I need to do lots of scrolling up/down or left/right in order to view areas that are off the visible portion of the view. IntelliJ zooming in/out does not work on Mermaid diagrams.
