difficult interface for casual software users/testers

GitLab has difficult interface for casual software users/testers. As a user, I often can't find current stable (normal decimal-numbered) software version releases even looking for a while, unless someone who uses git much (I don't) tells me. Many people download stable versions and expect to be on project's front page (like GitHub, with normal decimal number if used) and labelled as such.
