Improve Hierarchy for Deployments Navigation
Release notes
We have updated the navigation so that now when you click on the Deployments tab, you will go to the Environments page to find your Environments and Deployments, as opposed to the previous Feature Flags page. We have also updated the ordering of the Deployments menu items so that Environments is the top item which is more intuitive.
Summary
Currently, when a user clicks on Deployments on the side navigation, they land on Feature Flags. Understandably, this is because Feature Flags is the first section within Deployments, but it would probably make more sense for the hierarchy here to follow the experience through the Release Stage. New users might get confused as to why deployments automatically drops them into Feature Flags. It doesn't seem like this list is alphabetical either, as Environments is below Feature Flags.
Inspired by our Release Stage Brainstorm session on how to increase Release SMAU.
Proposal
-
Move the "Environments" up in navigation instead of "Feature flags" -
Make "Deployments" navigation item to lead to the "Enviroments" index page by default
