Sync slack channel with comments on issue
Release notes
Problem to solve
Some issues require fast collaboration between team members. An example are GitLab's rapid action and customers likely have similar processes. At GitLab the rapid action process recommends to create a Slack channel for faster communication between the team members and in practice such a channel is always created and used. This creates two communication channels: the slack channel with the benefit of creating alerts for fast discovery and quick response times and the comments on the issue with the benefit of broader visibility and long-term value.
Often the team members find themselves jumping between the two and having to move discussions from one place to another or duplicating discussions. Which is inefficient and increases stress.
To overcome this, sometimes team members write a comment on the issue and then just mention in slack that they added a comment. Which is better but also inefficient.
Proposal
Enhance the slack integration, so that for a single issue one can create a single slack channel that are "synced". Comments on the issue will also be sent to the slack channel and comments in the slack channel will also be sent to the issue. In both places, comments are grouped under initial conversation starters.
