North Star

Provide a viable alternative to Plan's primary competitors (Jira, VersionOne, Rally) natively within GitLab so we can further our value proposition of a single platform for the DevSecOps lifecycle that is equally inclusive of, and usable by, developer and non-developer personas for their respective JTBD.

To achieve this, through participating in dozens of customer/prospect conversations and listening to the reasons why they cannot adopt Plan, we need Extensible Work Items (&3354). To most efficiently achieve extensibility, we need a functionally different, consolidated object model. This is why we are working on [INITIATIVE] Work Items (&6033) as the next step towards our North Star.
