Help resources are not readily accessible

  • When users struggled finding content, they were unsure how to conduct a better search
  • It was not clear to users that the advanced search link took them to the GitLab Docs Site

  • Update the label of the “Advanced search” link to communicate that it is a help resource
  • Search syntax could be given inline on the page (no clicks/hovers required). we could even offer clickable filter pills to aid users
  • Determine ways to better surface help content to users
