When editing with Source Editor in firefox, the cursor gets an outline

When editing a file with Source Editor (single-file editor, Web IDE, Pipeline editor, etc.) in Firefox, the cursor gets some funny outline that visually overlaps the neighboring characters. Is reproducible only in Firefox.
