Problem validation for marking unread discussions and diffs as read

Problem Statement

In merge requests, as I review files, review discussions, and more changes/discussions are added, it's very difficult to keep track of what you have reviewed in the past and what still needs to be reviewed.

    • “I wish I could check off “mark as seen” files in a “Merge Request.” This is a somewhat newer feature in GitHub that is extremely useful, especially for larger requests. It remembers what I have checked, shows how many files I’ve reviewed (based on how many of the total I’ve checked), and when I refresh, it auto collapses/minimizes those files. In GitLab, you all don’t even remember what files are collapsed, which is very frustrating. And collapsed files in general, are still huge and not that collapsed.”
    • “Better merge request threading. It’s not always easy to see if something relates to the current vs earlier commits.”
