"Closed" badge should help understand when/why a ticket was closed (link to the timeline item responsible for closing)
Proposal
When I browse GitLab's GitLab, I very often come across issues that are:
- Closed long time ago
- With 100s of comments
- With tens of links to other issues etc.
What I'm most often interested in is:
- When / Why it was closed (implemented? out of scope?)
- Link to the PR / commit that implements it
On small PRs this can be as easy as cmd-f
and looking for closed
in the timeline, but when there's 100s of comments, finding this in timeline can be challenging (too high density of information).
If the Closed
button on the PR could link to the appropriate .timeline-entry
by it's ID (they already have IDs), it would be perfect. (<a href="#note_NOTEID">Closed</a>
).
(Sorry if this is a dupe, but I couldn't find similar issue)
