Rake task gitlab-rake gitlab:list_repos git disk access denied

This issue was closed in favor of #384361 (closed), as that issue tracks the full deprecation / removal of this command and functionality.

Summary

We have a rake task in our documentation to list repositories but it appears that disk access is being denied for a typical Omnibus install. I'm currently trying this on 14.5.2-ee.

Running the command sudo gitlab-rake gitlab:list_repos results in an error:

Gitlab::GitalyClient::StorageSettings::DirectPathAccessError: git disk access denied

Relevant code from storage_settings.rb.

Steps to reproduce

Run sudo gitlab-rake gitlab:list_repos --trace

What is the current bug behavior?

Running $ sudo gitlab-rake gitlab:list_repos --trace results in the error:

Gitlab::GitalyClient::StorageSettings::DirectPathAccessError: git disk access denied

What is the expected correct behavior?

The rake task should execute and you should be able to list repositories/
