Container Scanning 401

Good morning, so i added - template: Container-Scanning.gitlab-ci.yml to my .gitlab-ci.yml file, and i keep getting 401s Scanning container from registry 'registry.gitlab.com/xxx/yyyy/zzzzz:123' for vulnerabilities with severity level 'Unknown' or higher with klar '2.4.0' and clair 'v2.0.9' Can't pull image: Token request returned 401)

I have confirmed that the image exists inside gitlab, i tried passing manually the docker_user and docker_password and still getting 401, any recommendations?
