"Followed users" activity page fails when following as few as 9 users

Summary

When trying to load the activity page for the users I follow (@vkarnes, @clenneville, @pedroms, @mnichols, @lvanc, @mle, @sunjungp, @annabeldunstone, @nbrandt), the content doesn't load. When looking into the console, it shows that the request times out after 15 seconds.

If I reduce the number of people to follow down to three, it works again.

Note that this applies to all tabs under "Followed Users", not just "All"

• Try to load the followed users activity page (any of the tabs)
