Innersourcing means sharing code and information across your organisation. But not all information, questions and answers are captured well in repository-format. And even if that information is found across projects and repositories, it's not always easy to find this.

GitLab Knowledge Base allows you to build a central Q&A platform. A StackOverflow for your organisation.

Knowledge Base works exactly like issues, but with notable inclusions and exceptions:

  • it's global
  • issues are sorted by upvotes
  • comments are sorted by upvotes
  • All right side-bar features are disabled, except labels
  • It's accessible for everyone
