Issue search input broken - space between words - no Ctrl+A

Summary

The search input treats words strangely, it seems that it separates them into separate elements and then inserts spaces between them when the word has a cursor on it.

Steps to reproduce

1. Go to https://gitlab.com/gitlab-org/gitlab/-/issues?search=scheduled+pipeline+specify+job&sort=created_date&state=opened
2. Click somewhere in the sheduled, pipeline, or specify words and see the space (shown on screencast)
3. Try to select whole input text with ctrl + a and notice nothing happens
